IIFT 2011 entrance exam was held on Sunday, November 27, 2011. The exam followed the 2007 pattern with 120 questions in totality, divided into six sections – Quantitative Ability, Reading Comprehension, English Usage, Data Interpretation, Logical Reasoning and General Awareness.

All the sections, except the Verbal Reasoning section, were lengthy but lower on difficulty level. However, Verbal Reasoning section had lesser number of questions but was higher on difficulty level. Overall the paper was lengthy, thus speed was crucial in getting good marks. Each question had four options with variable marking scheme and negative marking to the extent of 1/3rd of the marks allotted to the question.
