The premier body of technical education in India, All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), has ordered that admissions to all MBA programmes in AICTE approved colleges and university departments shall be based on CMAT scores. The council has also stated in its order that admissions during the year 2013-14 for the PGDM institutions will be based on CMAT, CAT, MAT, XAT or ATMA (any one of these).

For admissions in MBA courses in 2013-14, best of two CMAT scores will be considered. However, students who could not appear in earlier CMAT can give CMAT (additional test)—to be conducted by AICTE in May 2013. Registrations for the test will be done online for which a notification will be issued by AICTE in India’s leading newspapers, shortly.

The Karnataka Examinations Authority will fill government quota seats (50 per cent of total approved intake) as per the merit list of CMAT 2013-14 for admission to MBA course.

Mangalore University has also released a press statement saying that they will admit students for quota seats using merit list of CMAT 2013-14.
