IIM Calcutta may follow admission policy of last year for upcoming batch 2011-13

Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta issued its last year’s admission policy for Post Graduate Program in management for the batch of 2010-12. The admission policy of IIM-C is a process refined over the years based on candidate’s cumulative data on Common Admission Test (CAT), Group Discussion, performance in Personal Interview and prior Work Experience.

 

Alike IIM Lucknow, IIM Bangalore and IIM Kozhikode, IIM Calcutta too gives importance to work experience. Candidates having more than 36 months of work experience are awarded with six points.

 

The following table shows the criteria and their weights used for final selection for PGDM and PGDCM for the batch 2010-12.

For work experience, maximum 6 marks have been awarded depending on the length of service as on 31 January, 2010. Candidates having 0-11 months of work experience have received 0 marks. Candidates having 12 months of experience have received 0.24 marks. Candidates having 13-36 months of experience have received 0.24 marks for every additional month of experience, i.e. a candidate having x (13 ≤ x ≤ 36) months of experience has received 0.24+(x-12)*0.24 marks. Candidates having more than 36 months of experience have received 6 marks.
