But what about those students who do not have these qualities and skills? An MBA school needs to train its students in presentation skills and communication. This is necessary especially for students who come from small towns and who may lose out on good opportunities that are based on such criteria. Such reasons may make selection tough.

Infrastructure like LAN or WiFi connectivity within the campus adds value to the college and improves the quality of work. By having the faculties, follow the same principles being taught to students like team work and assigning mentors among each of faculty, industry-members and alumni are some of the things that makes a B-school really good.

Trained to Succeed

Management studies have facilitated the growth of many training institutes and centres with thousands of aspirants signing up to get that extra edge. Most of these institutes have leaped from being just CAT training classes, and now offer various other courses such as GRE, TOEFL, IELTS, GMAT, and many more. Sunilee K, a Counselor at an MBA training center, says, "We have various courses for different requirements. For the Indian MBA programme, we have the CAT training, and for overseas MBAs, we have the GMAT training course. Along with this, we also offer training for GRE and the other competitive exams. Some of the institutes even offer wholesome packages including training for written test preparation, group discussion and personal interview, while some others specialize in their faculty and career material, especially in the presentation and delivery. A training programme in one such institute includes more than 3000 pages of course material. As Shushen, a student from one such institute, says, "I came from Trivandrum to Bangalore, because the institutes here offer a better variety and quality. Even though I paid Rs. 17,000 for CAT coaching, I think it is worth every penny, as the course material, topped with the way they teach gives a whole new concept to coaching." But students do realize that it is not just the training centre that is important. Monty, a student in a top training centre in Manipal, says, "It is a two-way approach, as any counseling institute can do just so much. It is the responsibility of the student as well to work hard towards achieving his goal. My training institute has a very good faculty, and is well-equipped with great study material and tests, but at the end of the day, it is the student who should work hard, to make the faculty's efforts worth it."

What is the cost of this privilege? Arjun Deoskar, a student, says, "I have paid Rs. 14,000 for the CAT training course and I think that it is worth every penny." The basic training period is as structured as the method of coaching.
