Highlights

  • Only major players recruited
  • Sony Entertainment Television and CLB were star recruiters

Overview

CLB and others led Media charge. Predictably, they did not get a chance to recruit from IIMs. Primary reason being that these companies thrive on creative talent, which they hire from other avenues. They, being small companies compared to corporate like HLL, have small manpower and consequently do not require a large number of MBAs. Their requirement being small and their salary packages being comparatively lower than other recruiters, they get the last slot at the placement process, by which time placement is almost over.

Bounty Hunters

At SP Jain, Sony Entertainment Television made 2 offers. CLB (3 accepted offers) and FCB Ulka (2 accepted offers) represented advertising industry at MDI. At IMT, a marketing bastion, saw galaxy of ad agencies headed by HTA, FCB-Ulka, Chaitra Leo Burnett, Saatchi & Saatchi alongwith ORG, MARG & IMRB, etc., vying for the best creative talent on campus. IIML saw 2 offers of Sony Entertainment TV accepted whereas 2 offers were made at IIMB. None of the media companies got a chance to recruit at IIMA. At Bajaj, HTA was seen in action.
