NITIE Placements 2006: Breaking Barriers!

The FMCG sector had regulars like P&G, HLL, ITC, Cadbury, Johnson & Johnson, Nestle, Coke, Reckitt Benckiser, Asian Paints, Cargill Foods and Marico. Recruiters from the Pharmaceutical Sector included Glaxo SmithKline, Dr. Reddy's Lab and Glenmark. Technology & IT sector had Intel, HP, CSC, Cypress, Cognizant Technological Solutions, Infosys, Wipro, TCS, HCL Tech, Satyam and MindTree Consulting. The Core & Manufacturing Sector included Maruti, Dupont, TATA Motors, TVS Motors, Anand Group and Murugappa Group, etc.

The jobs offered ranged from Consulting, Financial Services, Marketing, SCM, Systems/IT to Strategy and General Management. The leading recruiters in terms of offers made included P&G, Standard Chartered, Deloitte Consulting, IBM, ICICI Bank, ICICI Prudential, Intel, Infosys, Cypress and Cognizant Technological Solutions. The joy of the students was unbounded as most of them were seen getting multiple offers of their choice in terms of job profile and sector they wanted to work in. The indications of a strong and booming economy was there for all to see, and the faith shown by the corporate world in the students of NITIE once again came to the fore.

Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Ashok Pundir, Associate Dean (Placement), said, "The placement results for 2006 have been phenomenal. Participating in the campus recruitment process were over 90 firms. The highlight of these placements was the emergence of Consulting and Financial Sectors as the preferred choice among students with almost 50% of the students accepting job offers across various functional areas in these domains."
