Placement 2007

 SIBM, Pune

New International Recruiters Sony Gulf & Kaybee Group Participate in SIBM Placement 2007

If placements are any indication of the success of a Business School in the corporate world, Symbiosis Institute of Business Management (SIBM) has definitely made its mark as can be seen from the success of the Campus Recruitment Program of 2007.
3rd January 2007 was the day when dreams turned into reality with 210 offers being made to 143 students. There was representation from every sector ranging from FMCG, Banking & Financial Services, Consulting, IT & ITES, Manufacturing and Automobile to Consumer Durables, Retail, Media and Advertising amongst others.

The entire batch was placed in a matter of few hours with an average salary of Rs. 8.7 Lakhs and median salary of Rs. 8.0 Lakhs. The students never had it better in terms of choice with as high as 1.45 offers per student.

Snapshots from Placement 2007

International Recruitment

One of the major breakthroughs for this year was the participation of new international recruiters - Sony Gulf and Kaybee Group. Olam International continued its relationship with SIBM displaying confidence in the students and the institute. In all, 6 international offers were made, the highest offer of $85,000 being made by Olam International.

PPO's & PPI's

A total of 25 offers were made by various companies in the form of PPO's and PPI's. This number goes on to prove that the students of SIBM have been appreciated by the stalwarts of the industry, viz., ITC Ltd., GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare, Marico, Dabur, Cadbury, Goldman Sachs and Coca-Cola to name a few.

Laterals

If the lateral offers made this year are anything to go by, it asserted the fact that SIBM is considered as not only a training ground for entry-level jobs but also for middle-level management.

In all 16 companies made 43 offers with the number of offers per student standing at 1.65. The highest offer stood at Rs. 10.5 Lakhs p.a. by Dell International. IT & ITES sector made the highest number of offers with the largest recruiter in terms of offers made being Wipro - 8, closely followed by Covansys - 7 and HP - 5.

Freshers

The recruitment process spelt success and choice for the freshers as well. 63 companies made 148 offers making leading to an average of 1.5 offers per student.

The highest international offer was made by Olam International of $85,000 whereas the highest domestic offer stood at Rs. 10.12 Lakhs by J P Morgan Chase. IT & ITES and BFS were the sectors that made the highest number of offers. The other breakthrough this year was the number of new recruiters that visited the campus, this included Morgan Stanley Advantage Services, HSBC Bank, Citifinancial, United Spirits, Goodyear, Reliance Industries (Retail), Bharti Airtel, Television Eighteen India Ltd., to name a few.

In all, continuing with its tradition of breaking records this year was no different with benchmarks being raised to unprecedented heights.

Concluded.
