VGSoM, IIT Kharagpur Scales New Heights in Summer Placement Process 2010

The strong quantitative and analytical skills of VGSoM Students earned them challenging roles in Finance and Analytics. Profiles ranging from Investment banking and Equity research to Analytics were offered by Companies like Nomura, O3 Capital, Venture East, NABARD, Axis Bank, ICICI Knowledge Park, SBI Mutual Fund, ONGC, Vistasoft and Bank of Baroda.

Few Students preferred challenging profiles like Media Marketing and Strategy, Social Networking Marketing, and Business Development for Immersive Virtual World Technologies,Environment, Climate and Infrastructure Consulting etc., with Startups like Oxylabs, CTRAN Consulting, Sequoia Management, IntelliAnt and Indusgeeks Solutions.

The average stipend crossed Rs. 37,000/- with the highest domestic stipend being Rs. 70,000/-.

Overall, the high point of Summer Placements 2010 at VGSoM was neither the fact that many students were placed with multiple offers, nor it was the high stipend bagged; rather it was that all of the students got the profile they wanted, in the most sought after companies.
