Healthcare Management & Reforms - PDP in GIM, Goa
The course is designed for State, district and block level medical and health officials working with the various state Governments.
Objectives of the Programme
The objectives of the course is to improve the managerial competence of state, district and block level health and medical officials in public health and health sector reforms. At the end of the course, the participants should be able to:
- Describe evolution of health policy planning in India and understand provisions of National Health Policy.
- Analyze the Healthcare financing models in developing and developed nations.
- Strengthen the financial management capabilities of the health professionals.
- Enhance Managerial effectiveness in implementing National Rural Health Mission.
- Develop skills and competencies to address gaps in implementing District Health Action Plan.
- Develop managerial Skills in planning implementing, monitoring, evaluating health programs.
- Understand various emerging concepts of health sector reforms across globe and gain better understanding on planning, implementing and managing sector reforms to achieve desired health outcomes.
Course Content
The programme will broadly cover the following areas:
- National Health Policy and Population Policy
- Primary health care Approach and Health situation in India
- Health care financing and Health insurance and managed care.
- NRHM, District Action Plans, and Indian Public health Standard.
- Reproductive and Child Health and Gender issues.
- Accounts and Financial Management in Health sector.
- Team work, leadership, motivation performance management, personal effectiveness, Communication skills and Managerial Styles.
- Strategic planning and Management in health care.
- Health sector reforms and Public Private Partnership and Monitoring and evaluation of health programs.

Certification
A certificate of participation on completion of the programme will be issued by Goa institute of Management, Goa.
Programme Fee
Programme fee is Rs. 35,000/- per participant for Indian participants and USD 1000 per participants for foreign participants, which included tuition fee, course material, stay in air-conditioning room (twin-sharing), breakfast, lunch, dinner, refreshments during course days, internet access and airport transfers. The Demand Draft should be in the favour of "Goa institute of Management", payable at Goa.
Service tax as per Government norms (presently 12.36%) will be charged extra.
