Emotional Intelligence Program Overview: Accomplishment in life - both personal and professional - is attributed more to how one manages one’s emotions than the intellectual ability. Daniel Goleman - a pioneer in emotional intelligence movement - after decades of research, says with some authenticity that intellectual ability contributes to only twenty per cent of a person’s accomplishment and the rest is attributed to his emotional disposition. One finds in one’s own personal experience a good number of examples, across professions, supporting this view. The paradox is: a major portion of our human development endeavours focus on sharpening the intellect rather than culturing our emotions. This programme on Emotional Intelligence - where the focus is on the individual - would try to make the participants aware the imperative of emotional dimension in managerial roles and to offer cues for culturing one’s emotions for stress-free long term effectiveness. With this backdrop, the programme endeavours to cover themes such as self awareness, self regulation, inspiration, empathy and building social relationships. For: The programme is for managers at various levels. Participants are expected to share experiences involving emotional issues and make presentations.
