Strategic Port Management
Program Director: Prof. G. Raghuram
May 07-13, 2006
Fees: Rs. 45,000 (US$ 1200 for participants from other countries)

Objectives: Ports have a key role in facilitating trade, playing a critical interface between marine and land based transportation. They are part of international supply chain networks, the effectiveness of which drives trade competitiveness. Consequently, there are enhanced needs of multimodal transport, and increased involvement of private players in port activities. In this context, there is a need to evolve strategic perspectives for ports driven by strategic thinking among the senior management, for which a Management Development Programme could be one of the essential vehicles.

  • To enhance strategic decision-making skills through analysis and integrated perspectives

  • To understand core general management concepts as applicable to the ports sector

For: CEOs, Functional Heads and Senior Managers from the ports, shipping and related logistics services within the maritime sector globally.

Apart from the fact that the programme addresses fundamental strategic concerns of ports anywhere in the world, it would be of added value to international participants since there is interest in India as a growing port, logistics and trade market.
