Management Program for Aspiring Entrepreneurs 2005

Overview:
In an effort to encourage, empower and educate aspiring entrepreneurs to create their first business enterprise, the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB) in association with the Nadathur S. Raghavan Center for Entrepreneurial Learning (NSRCEL) will conduct a Management Program for Aspiring Entrepreneurs at the IIMB campus from October 19 to December 22, 2005.
This twenty-day part-time, non-residential program with eighty sessions is specifically designed for Bangalore based aspiring entrepreneurs who are interested in starting their first business enterprise. It focuses on enabling aspiring entrepreneurs to develop a business plan for their first enterprise during the program. The program is not suitable for entrepreneurs who have already established a business, or second generation entrepreneurs who are running their family business.
The Management Program for Aspiring Entrepreneurs 2005 will be inaugurated on Wednesday October 19 at 9.00 a.m. The program duration is ten continuous weeks from October 19 to December 22, 2005 during which there will be twenty days of classes at IIMB campus only on Wednesdays and Thursdays with four classroom sessions per day of 75 minutes each scheduled from 10.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. There will be a total of 80 classroom sessions of 75 minutes each covering the essential management subjects of relevance to aspiring entrepreneurs including Economics, Industry Analysis, Business Planning, Business Strategy, Product Development, Marketing, Sales, Accounting, Costing, Pricing, Finance, Banking, Budgeting, Managing People, Law, Taxation, Decision Analysis, Communication, Negotiation and Networking. Apart from classroom sessions, there will be two half-day field trips to enterprises in Bangalore organized on two mutually convenient Saturdays. Each participant is required to develop his/her Business Plan during the program and present it in class during the ninth week of the program. All participants who attend the entire program and present their Business Plan in class, as well as submit a copy of their Business Plan, will receive a certificate of program completion from IIMB. Prizes will be awarded for the best business plans presented.
The program fee for the ten week part-time program that covers the eighty classroom sessions as well as local field visits, program materials, refreshments and lunch on all twenty program days.. Applicants must have a good working knowledge of the English language and must have completed or currently pursuing any college level degree or diploma or certificate program. Preference will be given to applicants with business related work experience.

Registration:
Registrations for the limited seats in the program will be on a first-come-first-served basis only on full payment of the non-refundable program fee of Rs. 50,000 per participant by local cheque in the name of Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore, along with a one-page resume stating their work experience and academic record. IIMB reserves the right to reject applications (with fee refund), if they are found unsuitable for the program.
