ISB Hyderabad
Leadership Skills for Top Management
Programme Director: Clive Rubery
October 05-09, 2004
at ISB Campus, Hyderabad
Introduction: Leadership and change dominate most corporate agendas. This programme meets both challenges and will benefit corporations and top managers. It is based upon eighteen years of research and experimentation at London Business School (LBS) on the interpersonal skills of leaders. Six sets of leadership skills essential for managing change are included: Planning, Structuring, Motivating, Rewarding, Institutionalising, and Managing the Politics in Change Initiatives.
Important insights from LBS research into the competencies of effective leaders will also be analysed in depth. Competencies will be assessed for each participant at a micro orpersonal level. His or her leadership potential will be assessed in confidence. His or her function as an exemplary leader, or a role model will lead to a personal action plan for sharpening and fine - tuning the practical competencies of effective leadership.
To link macro (the firm) and micro (the leader), each participant will design and manage a change project. In parallel, leadership competencies found in high-performance leaders will be integrated into the learning. Particular emphasis will be placed upon the relationships and behaviours of the top team in any change exercise.
For: This programme is designed for chief executives and heads of major functions - finance, HR, production, information technology, strategy, operations - from medium and large, public and private businesses. All should have responsibility for the strategic direction of their organisation and for implementing change.
