Portea Medical raises funding from Qualcomm Ventures

Portea Medical, provider of medical care at patient’s homes has raised funds from Qualcomm Ventures. Portea Medical had raised $8 Million from Accel Partners and VenturEast in December 2013.

The company will use the expertise of Qualcomm to use technology-led solutions to manage chronic diseases and reach out to the growing population of senior citizens.

Portea Medical stated by Zachary Jones and Karan Aneja was acquired by the Serial entrepreneurs Krishnan Ganesh and Meena Ganesh. Portea provides geriatric care, post-operative care, palliative care and physiotherapy. It provides doctors, nurses and physiotherapists across 11 cities for house visits. The company plans to expand this service to top 50 cities in India. The company plans to raise more funds shortly from existing and new investors.
