Workspot, a provider of mobile-based workspace as a service solution to enterprises has raised Series A funding of $ 6.5 Million from Helion Venture Partners, Translink Capital and existing investor Qualcomm Ventures.

Workspot had raised a seed fund of $ 3.3 Million from Qualcomm Ventures, Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, Norwest Venture Partners and others.

The company will use the funds to scale up to provide 100% cloud-based solution to more end users and IT administrators.

Workspot set up in 2013 by Amitabh Sinha, Punnet Chawla and TY Wang is a workspace aggregator that allows IT to provision access to business data, Web content, native applications, and Windows applications to mobile devices in a context-aware manner. The firm has created a cloud-based solution for IT administrators called Workspot Control, and a mobile application for Android and iOS end-users, called Workspot. The Workspot app is a unified workspace, allowing end users to easily access their data and applications behind a firewall from any mobile device.

Workspot empowers mobile workforces with seamless access to their business apps and data on mobile devices. “As employees bring their own mobile devices to work, the lines blur between personal and work related information on devices. Our Workspace-as-a-Service solution is redefining mobile device management, giving IT professionals a much simpler, cost effective way to manage BYOD while giving employees a secure contained workspace on their devices.” Says founder and CEO Amitabh Sinha.
