The third round involved a test of the understanding of the concepts and nuances of outsourcing, through the presentation of the project plan and sales pitch to convince the client of their suitability to be awarded the project, by demonstrating their all-round competencies in terms of factors such as team selection

and assignment capabilities, requirements gathering abilities, knowledge transfer and knowledge management. They also had to indicate their plans for project delivery across global locations, etc. The winners were determined based on the cumulative scores obtained in the second and third round.

Mr. Devvrat Chauhan, one of the event coordinators, said, "The game tested the teams ability to process the information and data given in limited time and analyze it to take quick business decisions as they setup their process outsourcing firm. The firms bid for projects and the teams that are able to maximize their profits come out tops.

Fair Trade - Simulated Online Trading Game

Fair Trade, one of the most eagerly awaited events at Intaglio 06-07, IIM Calcutta's ISO certified International B-school Meet, was an Online Trading Game, simulating the actual atmosphere of a trading floor, with a specially designed interface very similar to that of the exchanges. The highly charged environment with participants excitedly running to other desks to strike the best deal, all while taking decisions on the spur of the moment, based on the dynamically changing prices and new information was a sight to behold.

Trading was allowed over six periods of one month in simulated time each, with prices changing every three minutes. The participants played with a portfolio of equities, call/put options and futures, based on new information, shouting out their offerings and shuffling across tables to negotiate and finally confirming the deal through the interface. A market-maker terminal allowed for transactions at market prices.
