SPJIMR-Mumbai Begins its Cinematic Journey with 'Shadow'

There are many reasons why SPJIMR-Mumbai is ranked as one of the nation's top B-schools and on April 10th, 2008, this premier institution gave yet another good reason on what innovation in management education is all about! Because with the successful screening

of the movie 'Shadows', the movie that heralded the dawn of SPJIMR's cinematic journey, it marks the birth of SPACE, a stunning confluence of cinema and management!

SPACE - the Final Frontier - That's what Capt. Kirk said in the legendary Star Trek series. And yes, there could be no other or better name for the latest initiative of SPJIMR, SPJIMR's Association for Cinematic Entertainment. The concept behind SPACE was simple, but powerful: to take the level of creativity to a new and greater height altogether, above and beyond the confines of stage and drama to a place where the imagination can soar unfettered and translate dreams into reality.

This year 13 enthusiastic and determined people from the PGDBM 2006-2008 Batch - Rahul Rajan, Murtuza Karachiwala, Gaurav Agarwal, Meghana Kedar, Pragya Chaturvedi, Abhishek Chauhan, Sandeep Cashyap, Kirti Ramnath, Rajeshwari Iyer, Mridula Gupta, Shubhra Jain, Anshumaan Yadava and Nitin Sharma, came together to create history, to form SPJIMR's Association for Cinematic Entertainment (SPACE)!

First Movie 'Shadows' Produced by SPJIMR's Association for Cinematic Entertainment (SPACE)

SPACE is a voluntary non-classroom initiative created by the PGDBM students of SPJIMR under the aegis of the ADMAP Program. The inspiration behind forming this group was to have a forum for people interested in cinema and enrich each other with their insights and ideas. The participants of SPJIMR decided to work towards an annual cinematic production to give it a more meaningful essence.
