ISB Hyderabad Organizes an Innovative Programme on Fashion Business
August 16-19, 2005

Hyderabad , August 17, 2005: The Indian School of Business is organizing an innovative Executive Education Programme - "Business of Fashion: Strategic Brand Management" - from August 16-19, 2005, at the ISB campus, Hyderabad. The programme is being organized by the Centre for Executive Education (CEE), at the ISB, and aims to share the best practices followed worldwide that impact growth, profitability and strategies of global companies in the fashion business. It is highly relevant to entrepreneurs and executives from sectors such as apparel manufacturing, fashion designing, distribution and retail. Marketers and exporters interested in developing their own brands and the advertising agencies connected to apparel brands will also benefit from this programme.

"We have pioneered some niche programmes at the Centre for Executive Education (CEE) at the ISB. The programme on the business of fashion is one of them," said Deepak Chandra, Assistant Dean, CEE, ISB. "It's a great opportunity for the people in the fashion industry to learn first hand about how brand strategies are designed internationally." Forthcoming niche programmes at the CEE include programmes on Media and Entertainment, Sports, Art and Business and Hospitality. Each of these programmes will be driven by internationally acclaimed faculty.

The ISB launched its first programme in the area of fashion - "Business of Fashion: Economics and Strategy" - in November 2004 in association with the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT), New York. The current programme focuses on building, measuring and managing brand equity. Professor Salman Khokhar, of the Centre for Professional Studies, FIT, New York, will conduct the programme. He brings with him extensive experience in the fashion industry. Khokhar had earlier worked with such leading names in the fashion industry as Calvin Klein, DKNY and LVMH among others.

The CEE offers short duration Open, General Management, and Customised Executive Programmes. These programmes are designed for senior executives and managers with a high potential for leadership. The CEE has organized numerous programmes with overwhelming participation from nearly a thousand Indian and Global corporations. This has made the ISB rank as a pioneer in developing Executive Education Programmes in Asia.
