XIM, Bhubaneswar Hosts "Arthashastra" - The Post Budget Discussion

XIMB organised its annual summit Arthashastra, a budget discussion forum conducted by Xfin, the Finance Club of XIMB, where veterans from diverse sectors such as social, commercial, politics, corporate and academia grace the occasion to present their understanding of the budget in a simplified yet critical perspective,
thereby enabling the participants to enrich their understanding of the budget through the discussion. This year Arthashashtra saw the likes of Prof. Abhijit Sen (Member, Planning Commission of India), MR. F. R. Joseph (Director, RBI, Eastern Region), Prof. Pulin Nayak, (Delhi School of Economics), Mr. Jitendra Balakrishnan (DMD, IDBI Bank, Mumbai), Mr. Joyant Nayak, (Energy Consulting Division, Feedback Ventures) and Mr. Rashmi Ranjan Das (Additional Commissioner, Income Tax).

Kicking off the discussions Mr. Naik outlined the sectoral crisis in terms of installed capacity, power generation and transmission issues. The budget was in his view satisfactory for that sector.

Mr. Rashmi Ranjan Das, a revenue inspector gave an insight into the entire taxation policy. He felt that the taxation policy was a function of the state of development of the nation.
