  3. Questions related to Group Discussion / Group Exercise
  4. Interview-related Questions
  5. After Joining MBA

Q. Was Group Discussion Or Group Exercise part of selection process?
Ans. Yes. Group Discussion.

Q. What was the topic of your Group Discussion?
Ans. It was a case based discussion. The case was pertaining to a Human Resource issue in an organization, which was intent on expanding its employee base without degrading the quality.

Q. The duration of Group Discussion, Size of the Group, Number of Panelists, etc.
Ans. 20-25 minutes, 12 members in a group, 3

Q. Were there any set norms for Group Discussion?
Ans. No.

Q. Do write a brief about your Group Discussion experience.
Ans. It was a case based GD. Five minutes were given for reading and analysing the case and thereafter the members discussed case for around 20 minutes. The three panelists keenly listened to the points put forth by all of us and then gave chances to the members who did not participate in the discussion during the slated 20 minutes. The discussion was close ended with a question based on the problem to be answered and hence we gave the problem a structure and discussed it on various parameters and then gave the solution.

Q. How was the environment during Group Discussion?
Ans. The GD took place in a large seminar room with members arranged in a semi circular arrangement with the panelists in the focus. Hence the environment was quite apt allowing a relaxed discussion and comfortable interaction among all participants.

Q. Describe your impression of your team members and overall Group Discussion Process?
Ans. Most of the members participated well with 2 of us initiating most of the points. Prior to the formal discussion, we made an agreement with each other to co operate & not to make the GD a "fishmarket". Hence, the discussion eventually was an enriching one and we managed to arrive at a consensus on a few issues.

Q. How would you rate your performance in Group Discussion?
Ans. (On a scale of 10): 9

Q. Give some handy tips regarding Group Discussion or Group Exercise that would be of great help to MBA aspirants.
Ans. Try and understand the problem before speaking. Start of by giving a structure to the discussion and then go ahead with your opinion. Do not try to speak all the time. Speaking well and making valid points is more important than actually speaking more but irrelevant points.
