Objectives:

For: Heads of schools, principals, educationists, curriculum planners, teacher-leaders, coordinators and promoters, sponsors and managers, officers in the department of education at state and national level, decision makers, policy makers, members of education regulating bodies, school administrators and teachers of international schools, residential schools, public schools, Kendriya Vidyalayas, Navodaya Vidyalayas, and Missionary schools, educational consultants, educational researchers, members of governing bodies of schools, executive members of various educational boards concerned with schools at national and state levels such as CBSE, ICSE, State Boards, and Matriculation board, and all those concerned with school education should participate.

Contents: The significance of investing in people to ensure economic development and quality of living across the world is now universally acknowledged. School education is the main instrument for development and change, production and dissemination of knowledge, nation building and development of human resources for a competitive economy. The challenge before the school leaders is to generate the culture of excellence and creating the passion and sense of worth about teaching among the teachers, giving them independence and encouragement and, of course, mentoring leadership among colleagues.

This programme addresses the topic of school leadership development from a multidisciplinary perspective and enables the participants to gain better insights and develop an understanding of evolving perspectives, worldviews, visions and purposes, which are needed to become excellent educational leaders. It covers a wide gamut of issues such as providing adequate infrastructure facilities, maintaining the competence and motivation of the teachers, students and staff, inclusive education, curriculum development, varied learning and teaching styles, stages of student development, inspired leadership, financial and human resources management in schools, managing stress and work-life balance, strategic planning of schools, ICT in schools, place of values and culture in schools, etc.
