Objectives: Social uprising against land acquisition for industrial and infrastructure projects, in the recent times, has emerged as a major constraining factor leading to time lags, cost over runs, business uncertainties and even shelving of projects. Investments worth few hundred thousand crores are delayed due to failed land acquisition attempts by the private business. As senior managers get into corporate decision-making and management of land acquisitions,
they need to enhance their regulatory understanding and strategic thinking required for effective land acquisitions; to undertake result-oriented strategic planning; and to adequately relate the corporate responsibilities with land acquisition process. This program is designed to strengthen the capacity of senior managers for positively influencing land acquisition plans. It is widely accepted that land acquisition by private businesses can be profoundly influenced by a wide ranging and cross-cutting issues like specific configuration of the state and its political institutions; legal and policy frameworks, socio-environmental concerns, benefit sharing issues, community engagement etc. This program develops the necessary concepts and skills required for a systematic and effective corporate strategy using an integrated approach integrating all these concerns and analysis that is required to successfully acquire land for infrastructure, Greenfield and SEZs projects etc. The program presents the latest concepts, frameworks and methodologies for developing and implementing successful land acquisition strategies.

For: This program is for Senior - Level Managers who are now, or expect to be, involved with land acquisition in their organizations. It is especially designed to meet the needs of firms who wish to upgrade skills and aptitudes of their senior managers for these projects. Given that this is a senior management program, participants are expected to have minimum knowledge on land related issues.
