Pedagogy
In order to train outstanding managers, the faculty employs a mix of learning tools. The pedagogy aims at providing sound conceptual knowledge and evoking realistic situations for problem solving and decision-making. It also aims at active student participation in the learning process through intensive class discussions.

The chief learning tool is the case method. Cases are descriptions of actual management problem situations called from experiences of organizations in a wide range of settings. Since students are exposed during their coursework to hundreds of cases from a wide variety of Indian and foreign situations, they also get a feel for how contexts differ and how it is necessary to design a solution keeping the context in mind. Other learning tools such as seminars, group exercises, projects, lectures, role plays, simulations, and games are also used extensively. With the help of the computer, students learn to deal with dynamic, changing, uncertain situations. For each course, the mix of tools that would best help achieve the learning objectives is decided by the instructor. This is updated and revised every year, keeping the courses current and fresh.
