Introduction

The Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode is the fifth Indian Institute of Management. Established in 1996 by the Government of India in collaboration with the Government of Kerala, it provides education, training, consulting and research facilities in management. Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode seeks to achieve excellence and a leadership position in management education .The Institute's own campus has been developed in the scenic ambience of approximately 100 acres in the Kunnamangalam locality of Kozhikode.

Courses Offered

1. Post graduate programme in management (PGP)

The two year Post Graduate Programme (PGP) in Management is a full-time residential programme for graduates from all disciplines who wish to pursue a career in management.

Methodology
The first year of the PGP curriculum aims to introduce students to some of the essentials of business practice and core functional areas of management. At the end of the first year, students have to undertake summer projects for 8 to 10 weeks duration in various organizations. The Summer Training is an essential component of the PGP curriculum. This will assist the students in applying the concepts they have learned in the first year to practical situations.

The second year teaching aims to introduce students to courses which are synergistic and integrative of the different functional areas. Elective courses in specialization streams give in-depth insights to the nature of the subject matter. Through a choice of electives, the students gain in-depth knowledge in the functional areas and specialization of their choice.

Eligibility
A Bachelor's degree (10+2+3 system) recognized by the Association of Indian Universities/AICTE as eligible for Postgraduate studies.

  • Candidates appearing at the final bachelor's degree (10+2+3) or equivalent degree examinations are also eligible to apply provided they complete all their graduating requirements including practical examinations/assignments before 30th June 2004. Their admission will, however, be considered provisional until they produce their final year bachelor's degree marksheet and certificate satisfying the eligibility criterion. The time limit for submitting the marksheet is 31stDecember 2004.

  • Open University graduates must show proof of minimum three years after class twelve and a certificate from the university equivalent to a bachelors degree.

  • Diplomas like Hotel Management, Fashion Technology are not eligible unless equivalent certificates to a three year university degree are provided.
