Six Sigma Workshop
At XIM Bhubaneswar

Previous

The tools and concepts were introduced using group exercises, which helped in the learning process. The sessions though hectic were fun filled and inspired learning took place. Simple day-to-day concepts like smelly fishes and tea making were some of the tools used to demonstrate the efficacy of Six Sigma. The bonding amongst the teams and the friendly competition further added to the zest of the workshop and drove the participants to imbibe the spirit of Six Sigma. Further sprucing up the sessions were the informative videos. With such an interesting blend of team exercises and conceptual sessions, the participants of the workshop had more than they had expected. The interaction brought out the essence of quality consciousness at the industry.

The session ended off with a video propounding Jack Welch's famous ten most important things in life - something the participants felt was very relevant for them - not only as Six Sigma enthusiasts but also as professionals.

The success of the workshop may be gauged from the fact that Mr. Rajora followed William Ward's precept about a good teacher:
"The mediocre teacher tells. The good teacher explains. The superior teacher demonstrates. The great teacher inspires."

And in inspiring us he lit afire, bringing true Yeats's saying:
"Education is not the filling of a pail, but the lighting of a fire."

Concluded.
