Chaos 2006: Annual Cultural Festival at IIM Ahmedabad
The D-Day at Last!
Pre-Chaos Press-release

All sigh(t)s are set for the 26th of January when IIMA's Cultural Festival Chaos 2006 starts its blissful ride. The biggest cultural festival by any management school in the country will be host to an estimated 30,000 people over four days from the 26th - 30th of this month. Now in its 10th year, Chaos represents a time for celebration, a time to let loose and enjoy to the hilt and hence this year the theme has been selected as Moksha.
Each person is unique and finds his true niche in a different field of life. Chaos offers something for everyone - so come and experience your version of Moksha!

To get things off to a rollicking start, we present a play which has not only been produced, directed and performed by students from IIMA but also is the biggest production of IIMA's drama society IIMACTS. Aptly titled "Wild Ride", the play is a hilarious murder mystery and has been written by dramatist Herb Hasler. Not only direction and acting, every aspect of the play like lighting, sound, sets, costumes, etc., have been taken care of by a team of IIMA students. They have been working for days and nights to make this play a big hit. The director of the play, Maitreya Sen Gupta (a second year student of IIMA) promises that the play would set the mood for the next four days - when celebrations of Chaos would be in full swing.

Aman and Ayan Ali Bangash, young turks on the Indian classical music scene will inaugurate the festival later in the evening before proceeding to enchant sarod lovers with their performance on the LKP lawns. This "Diwan-e-Khaas" promises to be a treat for all. One can picture students thronging the plaza to catch some strains of the music and mingling with other participants from the nearly 60 colleges from across India. Now that's what you call a meeting of the minds!

The whole campus is already in a festive mood what with the last day of classes today. Organizers are scurrying around making last minute arrangements and joyful energy is blissfully in the air at IIMA.

Concluded.
