IIFT NASSCOM National IT Symposium 2006 to be Held at Delhi
Theme: "Aiming Global Businesses: IT-ITeS Industry's New Priorities, New Realities"
On 21st August 2006 at IIFT Bhawan, New Delhi

It is quite some time now since IT was termed a Sun Rise Sector in India. The times have changed now. In IT, India has built up valuable brand equity in the global markets. In IT-enabled Services (ITeS), India has emerged as the most preferred destination for business process outsourcing (BPO), a key driver of growth for the software industry and the services sector.

With IT, boundaries and borders are reduced to mere geographical lines. It is in this global software space that India has made for itself a place to reckon. It is today the most favored destination for the global software majors to set up development facilities. 200 of the Fortune 500 companies either have their development centers in India or outsource software from India. The sun has already risen. But the weathers are changing.

IIFT School of International Business, New Delhi, has been the leader in imparting management education in the field of International Business. National Association of Software and Services Companies (NASSCOM) on the other hand has been one of the leading bodies of the IT and ITeS companies which has taken up the cause for the industry time and again. IIFT, with the support from NASSCOM, is organizing a National Level Symposium titled, "Aiming Global Business: IT-ITeS Industry's New Priorities, New Realities".

The IIFT NASSCOM NATIONAL IT SYMPOSIUM 2006 will discuss Challenges for IT-ITeS Firms to sustain their global competitiveness, explore potential of domestic IT market, and will bring forth HR perspective on issues & challenges for Global IT-ITeS Managers. Relevant experiences from experts across the industry shall be showcased to understand the scenario, as well as to look into the problems that need to be addressed immediately to let IT and ITeS in India reach its promised heights.
