TISS-Mumbai to Organize Annual Business Conference "Manthan 2007"
On 6th, 7th & 8th September 2007

Named after the mythological churning of the sea in quest for the elixir of life, the Annual Business Conference, "Manthan 2007", presented by the School of Management and Labor Studies, Tata Institute of Social Sciences, promises to scoop the best out of all participants, from student and the corporate world.

Divided into student events and corporate sessions, Manthan is a grand event. The past corporate sessions have witnessed participants like Azim Premji, Gurucharan Das and Arun Meira. The student events are grander too. Last year, Manthan saw the top-20 B-schools fight it out for the 'Paper Presentation' and the 'Business Plan' contest while Giri Balasubramanium of the Tata Crucible fame grilled participants at 'Jigyasa', the Biz Quiz. Additionally, the 'thinking' actor Rahul Bose and ad-man Prahlad Kakkar gave the 'Celebrity Talk' on social issues.

This year, the bar goes up one notch. Spanned across two days, the Student Events comprise of the flagship event 'Udghosh', that features a unique three-round nerve wracking competition meant to test the 'Team and Leadership' skills of the nation's cream business students; introductory 'Anveshan', the Assessment Centre, which invites certified assessors to do a SWOT Analysis of the 10 best biz students; 'Kshitij', the Paper Presentation Contest that stimulates the minds and inspires them to come up with new ideas; and 'Jigyasa', the Business Quizzing extravaganza with one of the best quiz-masters in India.

The Corporate Sessions will also witness a brand new activity of Panel Discussion that has been introduced this year, involving the likes of some of the biggest names in the industry in addition to a Key Note Address by a renowned personality, a Corporate Workshop and a session on an emerging concept.

Manthan also offers to foster creativity through its bouquet of informal events named 'Vidha', the thematic choreography, vocals and ad-mad. Though informal, the standards are highest, because participant's talent will be judged by winners of the 'Indian Idol'.
