The grand corporate event, Lakshya, witnessed the icons pouring in the NITIE campus from myriad celebrated industrial houses of India. RPG Group, Mr. Harsh Goenka (On behalf of Mr. Rama Prasad Goenka) along with CEO Adventity and NITIE alumnus, Mr. Kumar Subramanyan stepped on the podium of NITIE auditorium, the spectacle was riveting with prolonged clapping reminding everyone the great corporate journey that they laid out with their sole hard will and unflinching desire.

In his Welcome Speech, Dr. S. D. Awale appreciated the students' efforts in organizing such a mega event that brings the industries closer to the institute. He said that Mr. Rahul Bajaj, is a simple man who has done wonders with his business acumen and all management students should try to inculcate this great trait in themselves. He took pride in being the Director of an institute where students, staff and eminent faculty blend to create an aura of excellence.

Mr. Rahul Bajaj, Chairman, Bajaj Auto Ltd., in his charismatic speech, said, "The GDP growth rate of 9% is quite sustainable even though the business environment in India is not as conducive as it can be. It requires some dedicated and focused efforts towards bringing out a significant metamorphosis in hitherto lagging agriculture sector, while small change in industrial policy can provide the required impetus for maintaining high growth rate in service sector." He said, "A business entity which has vision to be the best in the market should have a focus on customer. The success comes at the cost of hard work, personal sacrifices and honest realism at work."

Accentuating the need for good leaders in India, he said, "Leadership is not only about charisma and showmanship. It's more about forthrightness, consistency, tolerance and, most importantly, uncompromising integrity. Good team and good leader are complimentary to each other. A leader, who conceives the idea, should believe it and should stand by it under every extreme conditions." While addressing the audience, he further said, "Nokia mobile, Apple i-Pod and Suzlon energy emergence as business leaders in the respective sectors reminds us that success never requires us to be first, rather we should be able to bring out a change for good and be the best in that." He was very optimistic about burgeoning Indian aura and said that India is emerging as best hub for professionals with excellent opportunities taking shape everywhere.
