Mr. Harsh Goenka, Chairman, RPG Group, a distinct doyen among industrial celebrities, defined visionary as a person who looks at the future with wisdom and imagination and accepted the award on behalf of Shri R. P. Goenka. He exemplified the significance of good business sense and leadership in attaining faster business

growth by quoting the very example of RPG Group of industries. He stated that, "A true business leader must not lose sight of innate sense of humanity and goodness." He dwelt in detail on spell-binding growth story of RPG Group. The conclusion remark was about the moral conduct that one should behave with to command respect in the society.

Mr. Kumar Subramanyan, CEO, Adventity, and the first ever alumnus of NITIE to be awarded with Entrepreneurship Award, emphasized that one must think innovatively and have a contrarian view to succeed in a new business. He talked about his journey from NITIE to Adventity, a leading financial BPO, and instilled the spirit of Entrepreneurship in the audience by sharing his own experiences. It was an emotional moment for him as he felt nostalgic after his arrival in NITIE campus.

He tried to explain his inclination towards the financial services. It was a mere coincidence that when he was pondering to join TCS, he got a splendid offer from Bank of America. He shared with audience his experience of working in USA. As the magic of working in India was missing, he returned back to home country to start his own venture. He said, "My first RFP which took me eight days to prepare was rejected in 30 seconds." He brought out some bitter experiences during the initial days of his endeavor to excel in Indian business conditions. He said that during those days, many Indian companies were looking at low hanging fruits, while Adventity always aimed higher by trying new ideas that were ahead of time.

The grand inaugural ceremony culminated with the vote of thanks by Prof. Ashok K. Pundir, Convener Lakshya. He wished that in coming years, the Indian Business world will witness a new breed of business leaders and entrepreneurs, with NITIE students taking a lead in it. He said, "The best way for Indian companies to tackle the threat of global conglomerates is the adoption of innovation which is nothing but thinking ahead of time."

After the inaugural ceremony, the "On-the-Job Achievers' Contest" began, where middle level managers from various companies present their new-fangled and path-breaking projects under the modules of Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Financial Management, Systems & IT Management and General & HR Management.
