SIOM, Nashik Concludes Annual Management-cum-Cultural Festival, Drishti '09, Successfully
Post-event Press-release

Drishti '09, the Annual Management-cum-Cultural Festival of Symbiosis Institute of Operations Management (SIOM), Nashik got off to a colorful start on 16th February, 2009. The two day extravaganza saw students from across the country participating in various events. The fest was inaugurated by Mrs. Rashmi Bansal, Founder & Editor of JAM Magazine. Mrs. Bansal, who has authored the best-seller, "Stay Hungry, Stay Foolish", is also the Consulting Editor of UTVi Business News. In her address to the students, Mrs. Bansal, an alumnus of IIM Ahemdabad, emphasized the need for students to be persistent in their efforts towards achieving their dreams and ambitions. Director of SIOM, Dr. Vandana Sonwaney, appreciated the hard work of the students in making Drishti '09 possible. She also said that this was the best learning experience students could ever acquire.

The high spot of the event was "Spirulina" - the Cooking Game. The game was unique in its concept of cooking up the best possible snack with limited resources. The flagship event of Drishti '09 was the Business Quiz, which was won by the team from IBS (ICFAI Business School) Hyderabad and MET, Nashik. Some of the best business ideas were brought out by SIIB and NITIE in "Dreamcatcher" - The B-Plan Contest. While "Whiplash" - The Supply Chain Case Study and "Telengiscope" - The Visual Case Study saw active participation from students, other events like Blochsphere, Minesweeper and Mad-Ad Show stretched the creative abilities of the participants. The cultural event witnessed outstanding individual and group performances which kept the audience in high spirits.

The curtains on Drishti '09 came down with the Valedictory Function in which prizes were distributed to the winning teams. All in all, the fest ended on a happy note as everybody danced the night away to the DJ's music.

Concluded.
