IIM Calcutta Students Take a STEP in the Right Direction

Previous

Though most of the STEPpers voice similar views with regards to their expectations from the program, they have different plans as to how they would make the most of their stay abroad. Pushan Sen Gupta who will be going to KUL quips, "Apart from academics, the interesting thing about KUL is that they have supplementary courses on fencing, ice-skating, salsa and other forms of dancing. Learning these activities is not possible in India and now I will get a chance to try my hand at diverse activities." Nancy Malik, who is going to Germany to do her STEP program at WHU, is excited at the opportunity of being able to observe a new culture so closely and has therefore opted to stay in the students' dormitory at WHU rather than renting an apartment in the city. Aviral Khandelwal, who is going to KUL, is keen on visiting wineries and watching soccer matches.

With its strong placement profile and the increasing number of students setting off for an international career, IIM Calcutta would surely aim to reap a solid advantage by sending more and more students for a STEP experience. This would not only create strong brand equity for the institute overseas, but would also bear fruits in terms of a batch profile characterized by strong international experience, during the time of foreign placements.
