In the absence SC/St Candidates, the medals will be given to girl candidates in the same categories mentioned above.

Mr. Kumar also gave an overview of other Scholarships offered by NTPC for excellence in education. He said that NTPC was committed to the task of encouraging the less fortunate and less privileged students in order to promote healthy competition. He expressed pride in being associated with XIMB in this initiative.

After this speech, Mr. Sinha addressed the gathering. He began by reminiscing the long association between XIMB and NTPC, which went back to the days of Fr. Boggart, one of the earliest Directors of XIMB. He shared some nostalgic memories of past associations and expressed his happiness at being in XIM. He later described this as Nostalgically Dragged Relationship Building.

He then gave a brief outline of the operations and achievements of NTPC and stressed on the vital role played by Human Relations and Industrial Relations in the success of the organization. He also mentioned some of the new ventures in the pipeline, including plans to diversify in other operations, like coal mining and power trading. He affirmed that NTPC was committed to powering India's growth and mentioned the recently launched Rural Bio-Mass Project as an initiative to achieving that.

Finally, Mr. Sinha urged every student present, not to compromise on their values and ethics in their journey through the corporate world. He also urged them to ask themselves how they could repay the country and society that had formed the basis of their societal existence. He concluded by saying that everyone should carry the bag of his or her values in the rapidly changing corporate environment and wrapped it up with the quote, "The Height of your Success equals the Depth of your Conviction".

This was followed by the formal presentation of the cheque to the Director of XIMB on behalf of NTPC. The session concluded with a vote of thanks by Prof. M. G. Jomon, faculty coordinator for the area of Human Resources at XIMB.
