Organisation would be more like a hive, and role of leader would not be for controlling things but that of suggesting or pointing to a particular destination. It is envisioning or trying to anticipate the future.
Network economic is opposite of diminishing return of scale i.e. it is more sort of increasing return of scale. One telephone is not important but a network of 100000 telephones may cost a Billion. What we have now is that plenitude increases value, which is a complete turnaround.
Virtual corporations- In network economy - in which there will be a variety of large players and a variety of small players. It is important how you define the size of an organisation. It is possible a group of 5 people are enrolled in the company, which produces product worth $10 billion. Thus network of professionals would do the job that may not be on company payroll. Example project work done in Hollywood.
Now, people are not interested in forward and backward integrations. As more and more of relationship based business would be successful. Example Dell. Relationship will suppliers and customers would be enough to call it a backward integration.
Product focus and cost focus would be strategy of future. Take a niche and serve it well. That is enough to create differentiation.
The future will be free from pollution and wastages. Like in nature waste of an organisation is food other. In same way industries would be feeding each other and an every place there would be more or colony of industry interdependent of each other.
Thus whenever you find some problem in industry and organisation tries to find out the analogy in biology and then find out the solution.
