Marketing as We Do

Companies use marketing skills to promote themselves or their products. In the same way, we human also market ourselves. But, why we do this? To find this we have to see why companies do it. They do because they have to satisfy their needs like growth, profitability etc. So, we also have needs to satisfy them we sell ourselves to others. A very common example I can site is that every normal individual likes to get close with opposite sex. A human getting close to opposite sex is similar to company hankering to get close to its customers. A boy passes glances to a girl, roams around her home, tries to impress her by many ways and uses intermediaries for introduction or passing messages. What all this relate to, a company trying to impress its customers. Companies promote themselves through advertisements on television, print media etc. Companies pass messages through intermediaries like celebrities and distributors for reaching to customers. The boy in our case marketing himself uses his eyes, ears and speech to contact his target girl. But we can't deny the role of rest of the body parts, which helped him. Similarly, company used marketing department for selling its product we shouldn't ignore the role of rest of departments who made the product hit with customers.

Capital as Blood

Capital is the life of an organization - its importance is undeniable. As humans can't survive without blood, organization can't survive long without capital. With time businesses have developed innovative ways of raising finances. But the fundamental has remained the same, transferring of capital from surplus to deficit. The surplus may be bank, venture capitalist, financial institutions etc. Deficits are all type of organizations even those, which are supposedly cash rich but don't want to take whole, risk alone. I think the concept of blood banks have been inspired from financial banks. Both of them do the same thing saving the life. In a low investment economy urging for saving to increase development is but natural. Same is the case with hospitals/blood banks whenever they lack resources like blood to save life they urge people to donate more to them. As blood bank won't do alone anything without other proper functioning departments same way finances won't be any help until and unless inefficiencies of other departments are not wiped out.
