Part - VII
Building trust is not a quantifiable goal. Nor can it be bound by time considerations. However, a structured approach to building trust can quicken up the process, giving an organization a sustainable competitive advantage.
Conclusion
An organization cannot succeed in the long run without earning the trust of its stakeholders and customers. Trust leads to the initiation of a relationship and ensures the development of the same, be it within or outside the organization.
Trust can evolve in and on an organization quickly and without much effort in a high trust society, characterized by spontaneous trust and dominant social groups. If such a condition does not exist, the organization has to consciously create the feeling of oneness among its employees and motivate and guide them towards a predestined work culture.
Trust has been traditionally considered a by-product of the operations of an organization, but this notion has to change. Trust is the life giver for an organization. It is the root cause for transactions with a firm, and thus the purpose of its existence.
