2. Questions related to Pre-MBA Preparation

Q. When did you start your preparation?
A. During the course of my graduation.

Q. How many months and how many hours daily did you devote for preparation to entrance procedures?
A. On an average 6 hours for 6 months.

Q. Did you take up some coaching institute or you believed in self-study?
A. I did go for IMS.

Q. Can you tell us which are your favorite books, books that you used for preparing for entrance, books for self-development and books for pure relaxation?
A. Books for Entrance Exams - Arun Sharma for Quants and Institute Modules were more than enough.
Books for Self-Development - Poor Dad Rich Dad.
Books for Pure Relaxation - Books by Paul Coelho & Robin Sharma.

Q. What was your experience with coaching?
A. It was fine. Not great, and required a good deal of efforts on my part to succeed. Course Material was fine too.

Q. What are the others books & tests which you used for your MBA preparation?
A. Did not refer to any other books.

Q. What was your strongest and weakest area while preparing for MBA coaching?
A. Quant was my weakest area.

Q. Some tips which you used for mastering Quant, RC, etc.
A. Keep basics strong as far as Quant is concerned, and for RC, I would recommend people to read newspapers fast and paraphrase or prepare summary. Don’t forget to get it checked. Time and speed are the key factors.

Q. How much time did you put for MBA preparation everyday? In case you were working, how did you manage this preparation while working full time?
A. I prepared during summers so that I could attend week-end classes and give 6 hours daily for studies. I was not working.

Q. Your present B-school and course.
A. MBA from ICFAI Business School (IBS), Hyderabad.

Q. What procedures your school has for admission to its MBA program?
A. Written (IBSAT), Presentation and Interview.

Q. What is the range of score for students who are admitted?
A. CAT Score is not a criteria over here, but still almost all of my friends have above 90 percentile.

Q. What was your score?
A. 87.
