1. General Questions

Background

Q. Can you tell something about yourself and your pre-MBA qualifications and work-experience?
A. I have done by Bachelor's in Psychology from St. Xavier's College, Mumbai. I joined TISS immediately after college, and hence, have had no work experience.

Q. So when did you decide to go for MBA?
A. I had decided to do an MBA by the time I was completing my 12th standard, as I had an interest in Applied Psychology, I was told that HR was a good field for the same. During college, I tried to find out more about this course, and thus, decided to prepare for applying to the colleges known for their HR courses.

Q. Will an MBA degree add on to your existing career plan or did you decide to switch/start a career in management?
A. An MBA degree would help me start my career in HR. It adds to my career plan in that I had planned to be in this field, and thus, this professional degree gives me better growth opportunities.

Q. Which MBA institutes and programs you identified for your MBA?
A. I applied to select institutes that are known for their HR programs. Chief of them being TISS-Mumbai, XLRI-Jamshedpur, SCMHRD-Pune, MDI-Gurgaon (HR), IIMs, UBS-Chandigarh, SIMS-Pune.

Q. Your present B-school and programme. Also specify your Batch.
A. I am currently studying in TISS, Mumbai in their HRM & LR Master's Programme. I am in the 2007-09 batch.
