Background

Q. Can you tell us something about yourself and your pre-MBA qualifications?
A. I am a Bachelor of Engineering graduate in Electronics & Tele-communication from Fr. Agnels, Vashi. I completed my schooling from Indian School, Bahrain, which is affiliated to CBSE syllabus. Prior to joining the PGPBA program at IGTC, I was working for 2 years in Marketing & Business Development profiles at various organisations.

Q. Tell us something about your life before and beyond MBA.
A. A desire to learn about the world of business took me to Infomedia India Ltd., where I started my first job as a Sales Executive for their International Export Directory. Within this company, I was promoted to handle the Institutional Sales segment. After 18 months, I switched jobs as Sr. Marketing Executive with 3M India Ltd. in the Commercial Graphics Division. Following this was a short stint as Account Manager with the Times Group, after which I joined IGTC.
IGTC helped me achieve an ambitious profile in Marketing & Business Development of high technology products and systems at a middle management level. Today, I am the National Business Driver for an industrial measurement system. With this profile, I succeeded in amalgamating my B.E. degree and the two years of selling experience along with a General Management degree from an institute which imparted the best of both worlds - Dual German System of Education coupled with best management practices.

Q. So when did you decide to go for MBA?
A. It was after completing more than one year of work experience that I decided to pursue an MBA which could be unique and promising.

Q. Will an MBA degree add on to your existing career plan or did you decide to switch/start a career in management?
A. The MBA degree helped in supplementing my career plan with the marketing profile at a leading German Process Automation Manufacturer. I succeeded in entering a techno-commercial role.

Q. Which MBA institutes and programs you identified for your MBA?
A. I had targeted MBA programmes skewed towards technology at the following institutes - European School of Management Technology (ESMT) in Berlin, Coventry University in UK, IIMs (all of them), NMIMS and Indo-German Training Centre in Mumbai. My choice was primarily the result of a career goal to pursue a management program which would later on help me seek a profile at engineering companies.

Q. Your present B-school and programme. Also specify your Batch.
A. Among the choices mentioned above, I went ahead with Indo German Training Centre at Mumbai for their PGPBA program. I am from the 2007 Batch.
