FINANCE and IT led the way

Like other places, reflecting the overall trend in recruitments, IT sector led the way by picking as much as 22% of the outgoing class. The booming stock market trend was also reflected in higher pick-up by financial sector 21% (Finanacial Institution - 11%, Financial Services - 10%). If the share of Banking sector (18%) is included, the share of entire financial sector goes to a high of 39%. All time favourites, FMCGs accounted for 17% share in overall recruitment figures. The other sectors which vied for a place in the overall pie included Conglomerate (8%), Media (4%), Pharma (5%) and Consulting (5%).
