The vibrant nature of buoyant Indian economy was evident with the phenomenal increase in the number of companies participating in the Banking, Financial Services and Insurance sector. The participation of top banks was augmented by presence of equity research firms.
Top banks like Citibank, Standard Chartered, ICICI and HDFC along with GE Money, ICICI Prudential and Kotak Mahindra banks recruited professionals with diverse profile offers such as Relationship Management, Sales and Marketing, Credit Risk, Market Risk, Treasury Operations and Investment Banking Operations. The over all impact was a significant increase in percentage of students opting for such job profiles.

The Information Technology sector witnessed some of the IT giants with the likes of new entrants namely Oracle, Sun Microsystems, Computer Science Corp. and the favorites CTS, Infosys, TCS and Wipro, Intel, Honeywell, Cypress. The new set off in this sector is evident with Tata Consultancy Services opening up its Global Consulting and Financial Services consulting division and Oracle offering product sales. Cognizant Technology Solutions once again emerged as the most preferred destination for students with 17 acceptances.
