Harnessing the Business Potential of Asia at Singapore

Objectives: This programme, which would be taught in English, aims to provide high-potential executives the keys to creating added-value in Asian markets to work successfully with Asian collaborators, customers or suppliers and enhance their competencies.

  • Strengthen leadership and management competencies

  • Expand horizons of knowledge in the Asian business context

  • Help enhance self-awareness

  • Provide a platform for sharing cross-cultural managerial experiences

    The focus is on key aptitudes, attitudes, and knowledge components.

    For: This programme is designed for high potential top and senior executives actively involved in formulation and implementation of strategies for Asia. They could be managing the whole corporation or significant parts of it such as a function or a strategic business unit. Participants from large and medium-sized organizations in the private and public sector would find the programme useful. They could be from corporations already doing business in Asia or intending to do so in the immediate future. They should have at least eight years of professional experience.

    Contents: The programme emphasizes the problem-solving approach - the process of defining problems, specifying objectives, developing alternative courses of action, choosing the best alternative in an uncertain environment, organizing people to implement the chosen alternative, coordinating their work, motivating and developing them, and finally measuring and controlling their performance.

    Modules: The learning inputs in the programme are grouped into three broad modules.

    Strategy and Leadership

  • Leadership role and dynamics in Asia

  • Taking charge and leading strategy

  • Leading innovation and growth

  • Harnessing technology and strategic interpretations

  • Managing JVs and alliances

  • Accomplishing cross border acquisitions, mergers and restructuring

  • Assessment and personal development

  • Building organizational talent and competencies

  • Organizing culture and implementing strategy
