Objectives: Sports and Games are increasingly gaining in importance in society today leading to more and more involvement of youth in competitive, professional sport. Sports and Games are also seen as careers in this newly emerging world of opportunity on newer fronts.
There is greater and greater involvement of private and public organizations in the spheres of education and commerce in the promotion of sports as well as talented sportspersons. This has been triggered also by increased involvement of the electronic media in the spread of the sports culture across homes and regions.

In this proliferation of sporting opportunity, there are several organizations in the state, private and public sector domains who are taking greater interest in developing sports and sportsmen in 21 recognized disciplines. It is in this context that this pioneering programme is being offered by IIM Ahmedabad in order to contribute to the professionalization of the management of Sports Organizations. The programme will focus on developing Strategic, functional and leadership skills in the participants who will gain admission to this unique offering. The programme pedagogy will revolve around the famed Case Method of Learning and will revolve around gaining insights from the evolution of the Indian Cricket Model and the emergent insights for developing and managing other sports disciplines.

For: Those in Leadership and Managerial positions in Sports Organizations either at the General Management level or in functional positions; those heading National and Regional Sports Federations, Heads of educational institutions at the school, collegiate and university levels with significant sports and games participation; Sports Ministers and Administrators at the National and State levels; Sports Directors of public sector and private sector organizations; players who have represented the country or zone or state with distinction and engaged in administration and/or coaching would benefit from this programme.
