Summer Placement Process at SJMSOM, IIT, Bombay Witnesses Internship Offers Across Various Management Domains

Summary

A slew of offers were up for grabs to the best and brightest minds in the country during the summer placement process which saw the entire batch of 2009-11 getting internship offers across various management domains.

As many as 56 companies from a wide spectrum of sectors participated in the process and offered exciting roles to all the 98 students of the class of 2011. The year also witnessed 33% new recruiters visiting the campus. The highest stipend surpassed the six figure mark and was bagged by many students. The process saw representation from sectors like Consulting, FMCG, Banking and Finance , Auto and Manufacturing, Systems and IT, Telecom and Pharmaceuticals.

The companies opened up a plethora of profiles across verticals and functional domains like Investment banking, Private Equity, Project Finance, Equity research, Business advisory and Strategy, Sales, Marketing, SCM Consulting, Operations research and Technology advisory. Leadership programs were also offered by conglomerates in the finance and IT domain.

Growing importance of the sunrise sectors was acknowledged by offers been made in exciting profiles like Energy Efficiency advisory and Green finance. Other niche profiles like Procurement services, Training Advisory, etc. were bagged by students with great gusto giving an exciting new dimension to the whole summer internship program.

FMCG and Telecom

SJMSOM strengthened its relationships with the crème de la crème FMCG companies with 33% of the offers coming from companies like Asian Paints, Cadbury, Colgate-Palmolive, L’Oreal, Marico, ITC, Johnson & Johnson and P&G . Idea Cellular, a major player in Indian Telecom industry, recruited students for Marketing and Operations profiles.
