Summer Placement Process at SJMSOM, IIT, Bombay Witnesses Internship Offers Across Various Management Domains

SJMSOM continued to demonstrate its dominance in the Systems domain by bagging challenging roles from global players like Frost & Sullivan and GE. GE, a traditional recruiter at SJMSOM has offered its coveted leadership profile in Information Management (IMLP). TCS, Wipro, Genpact and eClerx were among other leading companies which offered niche roles like analytics, advisory, and business development.

Conglomerates

Several conglomerates participated in the process offering numerous profiles across diverse sectors. Essar group and General Electric recruited many students for roles in Oil and Gas, Shipping, Power and Systems verticals. RPG & Vedanta Group also participated in the summer process offering Operations, IT, Business advisory, HR management and Marketing profiles.

Winter Internship

The students at the Shailesh J. Mehta School of Management have a winter break during the month of December, but they don’t take break from their learning. Starting this year SJMSOM took the industry interaction of students to a whole new level by offering the students an additional avenue to pursue internship or research projects in the fields of their interest. This quick stop interaction equips these students with the functional applications of the concepts learnt in the classroom and helps them in understanding the industry perspective before their summer’s stint.

This novel concept had received an enthusiastic response from the industry, evident from the participation of several companies like Ambuja Cement, Dun and Bradstreet, Equirus Capital, Ernst and Young, IBM, ITC, Lodha Group, Maple, Murugappa Group, SBI Caps, SUN Microsystems and Virgin Mobile. Interesting projects in the fields of Market research, IT advisory, Recruitment planning, Technology training and Equity research were offered through this program.

The motto of Innovation, Leadership and Entrepreneurship was held high by the students of SJMSOM by taking up challenging projects in start-ups incubated in SINE (Society for innovation and Entrepreneurship, IIT Bombay) for their winter internship.
