  • And thus moving further we made an attempt was also made to study the success stories of countries like Japan and Germany, who benchmarked their Infrastructural Development Strategies for all the developing nations. In the process, an attempt was also made to carry out a gap analysis by identifying the drawbacks in our existing Infrastructure development system, like the missing coherence and integration, and limitations in operations management while implementing the projects. Also, the potential opportunities inherent in the Indian Infrastructure system were identified for effective project implementation that contributes towards successful infrastructure development in our country.

The need of the hour is to break down the traditional project management techniques and adopt innovative strategies like Public Private Partnerships, Collaborating with NGO'S, Integration of IT in all the phases of project life cycle, and effective communication (managing the people) for successful project implementation.

Thus, in order to be on par with the other developing nations like Japan, Singapore, Korea and China, in terms of infrastructural development, the following strategies might be adopted. They include:

  • Cost-benefit analysis so as to avoid cost over runs in terms of cost and time

  • Talent Acquisition

  • Integrating IT into the project implementation

  • For successful project implementation it has to be in a time phased manner

  • Facility Location plays a vital role to manifest the real developed

  • Infrastructure that has capacity building and utilization to the maximum

  • "Successful Planning paves the way, but Successful Implementation.....
    assures the benefits."
