Highlights

  • McKenna's Gold: Appearance of McKenna Consulting
  • Slight increase in dollar salaries
  • Significant increase in offers by firms

Overview

IT consulting was dominated by the US firms mainly Exeter Inc. and i2 Technologies. Fatwire was another company that went only to IIML. The positions were US based. McKenna Consulting, a blue chip software consulting firm in Silicon Valley, used video conferencing to recruit. It recruited one student from IIMA for it's head office in Silicon Valley.

i2 technologies was star recruiter at IIMA and IIMC with over 15+ offers each, almost all foreign postings. At IIMB, iNautix was leader. A new star on horizon was San Francisco based McKenna Consultancy, which made 6 offers at IIMA (only campus it went). That's a lot when you consider that it's a 40-member organisation. At SP Jain, TCS led with three offers, IBM Team Blue with 2. At MDI, Satyam Renaissance Consulting was there. At IMT, Oracle Consulting was there. XLRI saw Cambridge Technology Partners making 8 offers.

At IIML, IBM Team Blue led with 7 offers accepted by students. At IIMC, i2 Technologies (15 offers), iNautix Technologies (13 0ffers) led the field along with other firms like Exeter Inc., Cambridge Technologies. At IIMB, CTP (8 offers), iNautix (8 offers) and Exeter (4 offers) were prominent. At IIMA, i2 Technologies (17 offers), McKenna Consulting (4 offers) and Exeter were big names.
