Lakshya-Empresario 2007 Concludes on a Successful Note at NITIE
Post-event Press-release

Previous

On the third day, there were a variety of entrepreneurial events under the aegis of Empresario. All these events aimed at infusing the sapient elements of entrepreneurship in the students. The first in this series was "Spardha", a simulation game in which 15 participating teams from top management institutes across the country were
given a business scenario and some resources, which were to be utilized efficiently to maximize the profit. The team from MDI, Gurgaon emerged as the winner, while the runners-up prize going to NITIE, Mumbai.

The "B-Plan Contest", which attracted more than 250 entries from far-famed B-schools like IIM-A IIM-C, IIM-L, XLRI, ISB, FMS, IIT-B (SJSOM), IIT-K (VGSOM), SIBM, DCE, SPJIMR, NMIMS, only to name a few. In the B-Plan Contest, the team from VGSOM, Kharagpur emerged victorious for the effectiveness and perspicuity with which they presented their B-Plan, while the team from FMS Delhi at the runners-up position. The winning team was awarded incubation from Nirma Labs worth Rs. 20 Lakhs for the fruition of its B-Plan along with a cash prize of Rs. 30,000 and a DVD player.

The "Elevator Pitch Idea Presentation", which attracted participation from both corporate and B-school students, is the miniature version of the B-plan contest. The idea was to present the plan in the short interval of 2 minutes, and still cover all the aspects of the B-Plan.

In the corporate category, the Mr. Sumit Kale, an entrepreneur, clinched the first prize, and in the student category, the team from NLDIMSR, Mumbai emerged as the winners for the spontaneity and efficacy of presentation. The day also saw the valediction of the winners of "Samadhan" - a series of online quizzes organized exclusively for engineering students. This event is one-of-its-kinds in the essence that NITIE is the first B-school to devise such a quiz contest for budding engineers.

The galore of events came to an end with exalting words by Dr. Subhash D. Awale, Director NITIE, who rated the event as 'Flawless' and said that in the form of Lakshya, students are not only learning management but also practicing it. Lakshya 2007 ended on a success note, but the road to learning never ends. The Lakshya of excellence will continue at NITIE in the years to come.

Concluded.
