XLRI, Jamshedpur Celebrates it's Diamond Jubilee year with Ensemble '09

Ensatus – The Quiz

As part of War of Wits at Ensemble 2009, the Forum for industrial relations at XLRI (FIRE@X) organised ‘Ensatus’, an HR / IR quiz. The quiz was spread over several rounds and covered questions on human resource theorists, management principles, industrial laws and general business information. It included an exciting buzzer round, designed to keep the participants on their toes.

This was the third event of War of Wits and the winners were :

1st – Charpatti, MDI Gurgaon
2nd – Varchasva, XLRI Jamshedpur
3rd – Phoenix, XLRI Jamshedpur

The teams gained some valuable inputs on different aspects of human resource management and industrial relations while also learning the need to think on their feet and derive clues from the questions. Overall, it was a learning experience for all.

Many other events such a Return of Empires, a business simulation game, War of Sleuths, a detective game, Deadline, a Business scrabble were also held as part of Ensemble 2009. The evening ended with the final talk as part of the SBI Idea Summit. The final day of Ensemble 2009 witnessed the SBI Idea Summit session by Mr. Michael Ferreira (International Billiards & Snooker Champion) on Integrity and Initiative, the theme of Ensemble.

Addressing the students of XLRI, Mr. Ferreira said, "Appearing before the best and brightest that India has is always a challenge and I will try to succeed in it". Giving an entirely new dimension to the meaning of integrity, he fondly recalled how owning up to one's own mistakes and facing the consequences were inculcated into him in his formative years in school.
