Post-event Press Release Mr. Kumar Kandaswami, Director, Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu India Private Limited talked about the Global Benchmark Survey that Deloitte had undertaken last year on companies around the world. According to him, companies, while pursuing growth create a lot of complexities in their value chains. Many have processes that result in paradoxes that are not easy to manage. However, there are a few companies that are able to master these complexities and are able to return significant value to their shareholders compared to the others. He talked about how such companies are different from the others and stressed on the importance of value chain synchronization in achieving operational excellence. Mr. Sachin Bhatnagar, Manager - Commercial, Marico Industries Limited gave a presentation on "Supply Chain Transformation" at Marico Industries Limited. The presentation highlighted the challenges faced by Marico supply chain, the solution adopted by Marico for transforming the supply chain and the business benefits of the solution implemented for Marico Industries Limited. Mr. Jagdish Ramaswamy, Vice President, Quality Team, Wipro Technologies talked about the importance of Six Sigma in today's Quality oriented world. He said that having Six Sigma project leaders who are correctly equipped for the job is vital and they can be a decisive factor for Six Sigma gains and for cultural changes. Wipro, the first corporation in India to adopt the Six Sigma methodology, currently has over 500 ongoing Six Sigma projects in place. Drawing on his company's long history of Six Sigma experience, Jagdish Ramaswamy looked at how companies can make an organization's leadership structure work for them, and at what made an effective Six Sigma leader. Mr. Tapan Roy, CEO, TCI Logistics talked about 'Successful Global Standard Logistics Model in the Automobile Industry and its implementation in India'. This was followed by a very informative Panel Discussion by Dr. A. H. Kalro former Director of IIMK, Dr. N. Chandrashekharan & Mr. Kumar Kandaswami.
